 Sport and Services
In summer you can find all manner of sports to suit any taste, including: windsurfing, scuba-diving, fishing, water-skiing,  kite-surfing and many other water born activities. There are excursions on both land - including trips to the famous Henry Mineshaft and sea of sand dunes - and sea and a well developed night life including shopping, bars, cafes, restaurants, agritourismo amongst many others.
 Beaches
Beaches found at Buggerru are particularly popular with wind and kite surfers  due the constant prevailing wind conditions. San Nicolo beach is the longest in the area measuring in at 3.5 km; Cala Domestica is also a popular beach due its long sandy beaches with dunes and old disused historic mine sites; Masua is situated opposite a large hill of 132m in height which has an old mine shaft located at its summit; Portixeddu beach is also a popular beach with both locals and tourists.
Local Events
All traditional local fetes and celebrations are connected to religious festivities. These include annual festivals that honour and pay tribute to Saints that each protect local professions, such as the "Santa Barbara" festival held on the 4th December celebrating the Saint considered the protector of miners and the 24th June sees the "San Pietro" festival which celebrates the Saint of fisherman. Finally on the 29th June there is the religious festival of "San Giovanni." All these festivals are a a definite must see events where traditional clothing, song and dances take place and create a wonderful atmosphere in the surrounding areas and town centres. .
Cultural Sites & Areas of Interest
 Antas temple - Constructed during the Punic-Roman civilisation. This site has magnificent ruins of this great age including a large temple, stone quarries, grottos with amazing rock formations, caves and a restored Nuragic village complete with an ancient watermill and botanical gardens.
Henry Mineshaft - The location of one of the most important structures in the region, namely that of the Planu Sartu Mine site constructed in 1865. Ore was once transported from deep within the earthy by mule and was then later replaced in 1892 by the more efficient and much quicker steam engine. The scenery here is breathtaking, with the mines entrance being 50m above sea level on an outcrop of rock. The surrounding area has majestic views over the cliff edges and out to sea.
